Famcare, Inc. has been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance that has been provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Parents as Teachers National Center (PATNC), the NJ Family Planning League, along with state and local health authorities.
Status of Programs Parents as Teachers is providing “Virtual Home Visitation”
Reproductive health service hours remain the same as listed at www.Famcareinc.org. Famcare operations and services are subject to change based on the most current information and guidance received from the CDC, state and local health authorities.
Emergency Preparedness and Precautions
Famcare recognizes Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties have transportation challenges and barriers for patients. Additionally, childcare services are also presenting challenges. In light of the social distancing recommendations from the CDC, Famcare is requesting that patients limit to two (2) people (adults and/or children) that they bring to their appointment. This is to allow for safe and appropriate space for patients with appointments.
When calling to schedule appointments Famcare staff will ask the following screening questions:
Have you had a fever greater than 100°F?
Have you or anyone close to you had a fever greater than 100⁰ F or has flu like symptoms?
Have you or someone in your household had flu-like symptoms or a temperature greater than 100⁰F?
Have you had flu-like symptoms?
Do you have a new cough?
These questions are asked to keep all patients and staff safe. Most annual and well woman exams can be delayed for an additional 3 months or until COVID-19 under control.
All surfaces (doorknobs, counters, light switches, pens, clip-boards) are cleaned at least once a day with recommended microbial cleaners. We have appropriate personal protective equipment for staff.
