The Parents as Teachers Program (PAT)
The Parents as Teachers Program (PAT) is designed for new parents, and their baby. The voluntary program begins while the mother is pregnant and lasts for up to three years after the birth of the baby. The PAT program uses an evidence based and nationally renowned curriculum for our home visit program. A parent educator will assist the parent(s) in learning new skills to promote positive growth and development for their young family. The content helps parents understand the development of their children, and how to maximize their children’s potential through love, interaction and learning. The Cumberland County Parents as Teachers Program is supported by grants from the NJ Department of Children and Families.
