The Parents as Teachers Program (PAT)

The Parents as Teachers Program (PAT) is designed for parents and their young children. The voluntary program is available to parents of children aged zero to five. Families must be enrolled by the time the child is three years old.

How does it work?

The PAT program uses an evidence-based and nationally renowned curriculum for our home visit program. The content helps parents understand the development of their children, and how to maximize their children’s potential through love, interaction and learning.

A parent educator will assist the parent(s) in learning new skills to promote positive growth and development for their young family. The Cumberland County Parents as Teachers Program is supported by grants from the NJ Department of Children and Families.
